For years and years, lipstick has been such a tricky subject for me. It’s either impossible to get the right shade, or it has a really drying effect on my lips. Either way, it can be a nightmare.
Coming from that, I purchased the Gabriel Lipstick (Sheer Rose-Orange Pink) with mixed feelings, but was pleasantly surprised, as you’ll learn in my review!
What First Attracted Me to the Gabriel Lipstick?
As someone who’s suffered from really dry lips for a long time, I was immediately taken by the fact that the Gabriel Lipstick contains nurturing Aloe Extract and Jojoba Oil.
This means that you get to color your lips the way you want, but that your lips don’t have to pay the price for your beauty.
While you’re out there, looking your best, the Jojoba and Aloe help lock in the moisture and keep your lips super-hydrated all through the say.
Having used it for a couple of weeks now, I can honestly say my lips have never looked better (nor felt better!).
However, the moisturizing effect doesn’t compromise the integrity of the lipstick, which is a common issue in this department.
The Gabriel Lipstick stays on for hours on end (provided you don’t munch on something or lick your lips or anything like that!), making it necessary to reapply only 2-3 times a day.
Another part that really appealed to me was the wide range of choices, when it comes to shade.
Now, it can be notoriously difficult to find an appropriate shade for your skin, so I really suggest you choose wisely here (or maybe try a couple of different lipsticks from different ranges to get a general feel of what would work best for your skin tone).
I feel the Gabriel brand makes that easy with a whopping 27 different shades, ranging from some really discrete, really tasteful nudes to some pretty dark walnut tones, of course exploring a wide palette of pinks in-between.
What Are Others Saying About It?
Well, the large majority of reviews were satisfied with the lipstick, the only real issue being that some found their lipstick leaning towards orange a little more than they would’ve liked.
Personally, I feel that really depends on how the lipstick interacts with your lips, so it’s not technically a fault of Gabriel per se.
A lot of folks were really pleased with the great price, as well, and noted being loyal customers for years!
Verdict: Yay or Nay?
Judging from my own personal experience with the lipstick, as well as from the other reviews I found online, I would give this one a yay.
With the 27 shades, getting the right color shouldn’t be a problem.
They have dark shades, as well as bright and bold ones, and even light hints for those who want to use them in an office setting!
Bottom line – pucker up, ladies!
Would I use the product again?
I use it every day, almost, and will definitely purchase again once my lipstick runs out!
Did the effect match the product′s description?
It was hydrating and had a gorgeous tinting effect, so definitely.
Would I recommend it to my friends?
I already have, with pleasure!
